With property values climbing 10-15% year over year, taxes are starting to get out of hand. With
the rejection of the TRE measure in August, residents sent a resounding
message that they are concerned about property taxes.
How do we keep property taxes low while continuing to provide the level of public services needed in the city? How do we continue to keep our public school system thriving?
With the rising property values, we are starting to price some people out of the market. The Dallas Business Journal recently stated in an article that new home permits have dropped in Frisco as median home values have risen 78 percent.
The last thing we want to do is price families out of the Frisco market and cause a bubble to pop like it did in California and other states. I want
to build Frisco for generations, and the only way to do that is keep property taxes reasonable.
